Azure graduated from Bates College in 2017, with a BS in psychology and minors in chemistry and theater. Her past research experiences at Zucker Hillside Psychiatric Hospital, in the Nock Lab at Harvard University, and at Bates during her honors thesis have fostered her interests in using physiological and neural research methods to investigate developmental periods of vulnerability to psychopathology, particularly suicidality and emotion dysregulation. In the Stress and Development Lab at UW, she managed the 2 year follow up portion of a study investigating how childhood trauma influences emotion regulation, brain development, and psychopathology outcomes, and this experience lead to further interests on the influence of stress on affective development. She is one of two lab managers currently transitioning the Stress and Development Lab to Harvard University. During this transition, she is applying to clinical psychology PhD programs, to hopefully work toward answering some of her questions about adolescence, stress, and psychopathology.
