Irene graduated from Bates College in 2019, with a BA in psychology and a minor in French. Her past research experiences include working with Dr. Maya Rosen on the HOME study at the Stress and Development Lab at UW, which looked at the effect of early life experiences including socioeconomic status and enrichment of the home environment on the development of cognitive skills and academic achievement. At Bates, Irene focused her research on financial stress and depressive symptoms within the Bates student body. These research experiences have fostered her interests in investigating the ways in which stress and trauma are directly related to cognitive skills and psychopathology particularly in children, and young adults. In the future, Irene hopes to pursue a career in clinical psychology to continue studying the associations between early life trauma and psychopathology in children and young adults. Outside of her research interests, Irene enjoys traveling, film and theatre, and live music.
