***What is one project you’re excited about that you are working on in the lab right now?***

I am passionate about understanding the role of socio-cultural influences—particularly identity-related stigma—on mental health as children are developing and forming their identities. I’m currently starting a new project that ties these interest together: using data from the ABCD study, it examines the impact of structural stigma and discrimination on cognition and affect during child development, and the potential role of social support as a protective factor. I’m excited to see where it goes!

***What is something that you enjoy doing outside of work?***

I love to cook. Especially during COVID, I have really enjoyed experimenting with new recipes and making elaborate meals (even if it’s just for me and my roommate).

***What brought you to work here?***

The STAR Study! I feel lucky to be working on such a pathbreaking study with an inspiring team. I have learned so much from everyone!

***What is something you have accomplished and are proud of outside of work?***

Getting into grad school! Starting this position in the lab, I knew I wanted to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology, and it feels surreal to now be on a clear path towards this dream. I feel so grateful for the mentors who supported me though all of the applications and interviews, and I am so excited to be attending one of my top choices for grad school next year :)

***What has made you the proudest in your time in the lab?***

Working on the STAR study, I have gotten the opportunity to talk to many wonderful teenagers. I am most proud of being able to connect and establish trust with these participants—something that also makes me excited for the clinical training I will soon encounter in graduate school.

***If you could be anything (outside from your current field) what would it be?***

A teacher; I worked and volunteered in public school systems before and during undergrad. Through those experiences, I developed so much respect and admiration for teachers and everything they do.

***What’s important to know about you?***

I LOVE animals. I am counting down the days until I can adopt a dog of my own, but for now I live vicariously through all the dog owners in my life.
