David Weissman is a postdoctoral fellow in the Stress and Development Lab. He is interested in the neurobiological mechanisms linking specific types of childhood and adolescent adversity with their consequences for adolescents’ mental health. His research interests are informed by his education and training in Neuroscience in Developmental Psychology and his experiences as a teacher. David received his bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California and his PhD in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, where he worked under the mentorship of Dr. Paul Hastings and Dr. Amanda Guyer. He taught 7th grade science at Roots International Academy in Oakland and Psychology at UC Davis and with the Prison University Program at San Quentin.
