Gyuri graduated from Northwestern University in 2018 with a MS in Marriage and Family Therapy and is currently working as an outpatient clinician at community mental health agency in Cambridge/Somerville. In addition to her role in the Stress and Development lab, she supports projects that explore the impact of childhood adversity on altered brain structure as a research assistant in Dr. Karlen Lyons-Ruth’s lab at Cambridge Hospital. She is writing a paper on how childhood trauma impacts disrupted emotion regulation under the guidance of Dr. David Weissman, and is assisting the COVID-19 Impact Study. Her primary interests lie in exploring various mechanisms that confer risk or resilience for emotional development during childhood and adolescence. Outside the lab, she enjoys traveling, drawing, playing video games, cooking Korean cuisine and watching soccer games.
