Isabela Gonzalez-Rubio graduated magna cum laude from Boston College in 2023 with a B.A in Psychology, a concentration in clinical psychology and a minor in Leadership and Management. During her undergraduate years, Isabela started her research career under the guidance of Professor Katherine McAuliffe by joining the Cooperation Lab, which focused on social and moral developmental psychology. After two years of learning and growth, Isabela completed a Seniors Honors Thesis exploring third-party interventions following children’s moral interventions. Isabela was invited to represent Boston College and present her findings at the Atlantic Coast Conference “Meeting of the Minds” at Virginia Tech.

After graduating from college, Isabela wanted to explore the clinical aspect of Psychology and joined an eating disorder residential facility as a residential counselor. This position gave Isabela the opportunity to work closely with teenagers and adults suffering from different mental health disorders and to learn about different treatments and interventions.

Isabela’s desire to combine her research experience with her clinical experience led her to join the Stress and Development Lab at Harvard to research the effects of stress on teenager’s mental health. In the future, Isabela wishes to pursue a Psy. D with a concentration in child and adolescent psychology to continue helping teenagers and their families.
