Isamar Medina
Isamar Medina (she/her/ella) graduated from Loyola University Chicago in 2021 with a B.S. in Psychology. She is currently a first-year MSW student at Loyola University Chicago, wherein she's studying migration studies in context of mental health and obtaining intensive training in psychotherapy. In the Stress and Development Lab, Isamar works with Dr. Maya Rosen on the OCEAN study conducting an interview, administering behavioral tasks, and distributing various questionnaires to participating parents. Her primary interests include examing the familial mental health outcomes produced by immigrating to the US & residual truamatic stressors in Latinx immigrants. She hopes to eventually practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and obtain a DSW in Advanced Clinical Practice to pursue these interests. Outside of the lab, Isamar loves to spend time with family, try new foods with her brother, and watch movies with her dog.
