Maya Chan Morales graduated from UC Berkeley in 2018 with a BA in Psychology and Anthropology. In addition to her role in the Stress and Development Lab, she is currently working as a clinical research coordinator at the Child Brain and Behavior Lab at Stanford. She has worked extensively with infants, children, and teens with developmental disabilities, and has a special interest in working with foster youth. Her primary interests include early life stress, the foster care system, the Pediatric ACEs and Related Life Events Screener, outdoor education, development, and mental health. She hopes to someday obtain a PhD in clinical psychology, with a special focus in early life stress and trauma, and how these factors affect neurodevelopment. Outside the lab, Maya is a jazz and R&B singer, avid reader, expert tide-pooler, and skilled forager of medicinal and edible plants native to California.
