Sameer Khan
Sameer Khan is a current sophomore at Harvard College, concentrating in the History of Science with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, Rights. As a research assistant in the Stress & Development Lab, Sameer contributes to the Observing Children’s Environments and Neurodevelopment (OCEAN) Study, which investigates how home environment mediates the relationship between socioeconomic status and academic achievement for young children. In this capacity, Sameer cultivates his love for working with kids as well as his passion for centering mental health and its social and structural determinants. Outside of the Stress & Development Lab, though, Sameer is broadly interested in the intersection of social justice and mental health—most particularly, in the criminalization of mental illness—as well as in the resistance of marginalized communities against settler-colonial projects.
