What is one project you’re excited about that you are working on in the lab right now?

I am currently working on a project with John that uses precision neuroscience approaches (ie. creating individualized brain network maps) to examine the effect of stress on functional network recruitment during the processing of emotional faces. We are just starting out, so I have no idea where this will take us, but I am super excited to learn new tools and problem solve along the way! Major thank you to John for bearing with my 1,000,000 questions every week.

What is something that you enjoy doing outside of work?

Finding old clothes at thrift stores and adapting/rebuilding them so that they look cool again.

Do you have any hidden talents? If so, what?

I can ride a unicycle while juggling and can also tightrope walk (was in a circus performance troop for 10 years as a kid...=P )

What do you want to be when you “grow up”?

I have no freaking idea.

What is something you have accomplished and are proud of outside of work?

I started a graphic design company with my sister last July and things are going super well!

What is something that you are personally working on improving (about yourself, about the world, about your community etc)?

How to just be still and enjoy what is already happening around me. Accepting the present for what it is, without thinking about how to use the current moment to make tomorrow better.

What brought you to work here?

Kate. Full stop.

What has made you the proudest in your time in the lab?

Watching all the RA's land in such amazing ideal places, the post-docs finding their perfect jobs, watching the grad students find their passions (shout out to Steven for being recognized for his investment in highlighting and raising all experiences up and to Steph for her continued striving to work in challenging nexus points). And of course to Kate for keeping us all together over the past year.

If you could be anything (outside from your current field) what would it be?

Graphic Designer and Artist
